WAPT.com reports that the city has spoken, and they’ve decided to ban e-cigarettes in the same fashion as cigarette smoking in the city. The City of Clinton Board of Alderman passed the law that vaping will not be allowed in public places, including restaurants or stores.
Mark Jones of the City of Clinton told the news site in this video that the “cloud of smoke could irritate the eyes” and “we’re doing this to bring vaping in conformity with our existing non-smoking ordinances.”
The board also must now approve where e-cigarettes are sold, being zoned like tobacco cigarettes. The new law will be in effect by the new year, and violators will face fines up to $500.
